Team Beta: Engage
Hodge’s rousing speech was cut short by gunfire at the back of the hall. He scowled as one of his own men turned on his brothers and opened fire. The were under attack. Mutant scum had invaded their very base.
All hell had broken loose.
A group of teenage mutants, no less, cause the commotion. Hodge pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose and sighed. From above his cybernetic scorpion-like battle suit activated and started climbing down the wall behind him.
”Bastion will not accept a delay. I was hoping this would happen… now I can justify this.”

As the spine of the armour extended towards him, wires detached and sought him out. The penetrated the fake skin covering his cyborg frame and interfaced with cranial and spinal CPU. As his head and spine was ripped from his suited body, his bodyguards watched in horror.
“Oh… my… god..”
”Oh, come now soldier…”
The front of the armour closed and sealed around him with a CLIK.
”Grow a pair.”
He was in full control of the suit and was ready to destroy these troublesome teenagers. He was going wipe them out. All of them.
Sam’s attention was pulled away from the pummeling he was administering by Roberto’s startled cry.
“Dammit Sam, look at Hodge!” he shouted.
Sam barely had time to react before there was an ominous scuttling noise behind him. The sort of sound that he used to hear on summer nights when scorpians hurried across the floorboards. Only this was a much, much bigger scorpian.
Immediately he whipped his head around and faced the monstrous robotic body that now housed Hodge’s head.
“Watch it, Bobby!” he shouted, as the monster made a lunge for his friend. Sam flew down past Hodge’s head long enough to distract him while Sunspot recovered. But he wouldn’t be able to engage him for long. They had to learn its weaknesses — and fast.
“Karma, we’re in trouble!” he shouted over the comm. “Can you get a lock on this thing?”
Watching Warlock spaz, smoke coming from the creatures ears, he almost feels like he’s in pain himself. He hates seeing his friend in such a state but what had to be had to be done. “I know, Warlock, I know.” He doesn’t reach out or anything to touch him but he knew that he wouldn’t be able to concentrate if he did otherwise.
“Warlock, this is a war. There isn’t any choice in this matter at this point.” He points at the screen of the computer they were currently standing before. “You have to take their energy and you have to do it now.” He wasn’t entirely sure on what else to tell him. “Just… You won’t have to do it for a long while after this… Okay?”
The fight was chaotic. Messy. Things were getting out of hand. Whereas their takeover of the huge army had seemed easy at first, with Hodge turning into a giant techno-scorpion…thing…things were getting dangerous. Immediately after Sam yelled out his orders to her, Karma psychically probed the area to get a lock on Hodge. She found him within seconds; giant bio-mechanical being with an ego large enough to fill a room? Not all that difficult.
She locked onto him, taking over his mind and body control, at least, that’s what the usual protocol was. But nothing would go according to usual protocol with Hodge. The inner computer of his scorpion-like technology immediately detected her mental control, and in return, got a lock on her. Damn.
“He’s found me…”
A razorsharp claw punched through the wall, knocking Shan off of her feet, and breaking her control over Hodge. She fell. She fell hard. But what hurt more than her landing was his next course of action. That same claw raised high into the air, then crashed down, straight through her leg, pinning her to the wall. She screamed out, consumed with pain.
Blood. Blood everywhere. Then nothing but a dark blot taking over her vision, before all went black.
